Phil October

Last month saw us finish the Giffard Park Flat and move in so this month we rewarded ourselves with a proper holiday.  A two week holiday that didn’t involve time share meetings.  Only a quick summary this month because I have written most of the entries while we have been away.

The wonderful local goats cheese but we only ate a small part of this slab, most was left for the maid.

The lovely coastline which does seem to differ a little from the other islands.  This stretch is along the north coast.

This part is along the less accessible and less travelled west coast.

These are the statues that commemorate the original division of the island into two kingdoms where the dividing wall used to be before it was robbed out.  This is inland over the mountain range.

Taken from inside one of many caves along the east coast.

This was also taken along the east coast, not far from where we stayed on our way to our favorite paella restaurant.

This was taken further down the east coast.

This was taken further down still.

This is a shot taken along the wonderful coastal walk along the west coast.

One of our restrictions for our holiday was that we needed to be back for Tom and Youngja’s wedding.  A fantastic day was had by everyone.

Youngja’s family and friends that came over from Korea were such good fun.  Here we were being taught how to dance Korean gangnam style.  Even Jim and myself had a little go.

The wedding also gave us the opportunity to meet Harriet’s boyfriend Billy.  He turned out to be a great lad and he seemed to fit in with everyone that he didn’t know really well.  You can almost see me in this shot; well you can see my pint while I took the photo.  He is temporarily roofing while he finds a more suitable job for himself and he took a video of us dancing on his mobile.  When he showed it to his mate, he almost fell off the roof.  This was probably the best wedding that I cant remember that I have ever been to.

Well thats it for this month.  Next month we intend to tackle our dilapidated staircase and I am working hard on Daphne's affairs. We have also sent off our passports for another 10 year period so we may be booking something again soon as Mr and Mrs Krause for the first time.  I remember that George signed our photo's 10 years ago; I hope we are all around the next time in another 10 years.
